The Rapid City Area Chamber of Commerce recognizes members for their commitment and services to both the Chamber and the community through the Chamber Awards listed below.

George Award

This is the Chamber's most prestigious award presented every year at the Annual Meeting. This award is chosen by the Chamber's Executive Board and given to an individual who has, over a period of time, provided leadership to our community in a variety of ways.  In other words, “They didn’t wait to let “George” do it, they did it themselves”.

Nominations are currently being accepted for this year’s George Award.  If you are interested in nominating someone for the George Award, fill out the George Award Nomination Form.

Submission deadline for nominations is August 1, 2010.

Young Professional of the Year Award
The Young Professional of the Year Award is presented to an outstanding young professional in the Rapid City area who demonstrates vision, professionalism, and involvement resulting in a positive impact on the community. The award is sponsored by the Young Professionals Group of the Rapid City Area Chamber of Commerce.

ATHENA Award
The ATHENA Award Program promotes leadership and honors outstanding leaders.  By recognizing exceptional individuals, the award program seeks to inspire others to achieve excellence.  The ATHENA Award honors individuals who strive toward the highest levels of professional accomplishments in their chosen field, devote time and energy to their community in a meaningful way and who open paths so others may follow.

Wind Beneath Our Wings

The Rapid City Chamber’s Health & Human Services is proud to sponsor the annual Outstanding Performance Awards, a prestigious award designed to recognize people in the health & human service professions for outstanding service to their organization, their community and their profession.  Up to eight individuals will be recognized during the 2009 “Wind Beneath Our Wings” Outstanding Performance Awards Luncheon to be held  November 5th at the Radisson Hotel.  Nominees for the award should be individuals whose service and contribution to the profession includes, but is not limited to:

                        •  Exceptional service in the Health & Human Services field

                        •  Development of a new/enhancement of an existing program

                        •  Dedication to clientele

                        •  Service as a role model to others in the profession

                        •  Volunteer work
