Join the Rapid City Area Chamber of Commerce on their adventure to China April 4 - April 12, 2011. This trip is open to both Chamber Members and Non-Chamber Members.

TRIP ITINERARY
Day 1 - 4/4 - Los Angeles/Beijing
Depart from LAX International Airport for an 1:40 a.m. flight. Your adventure begins as you fly trans-Pacific aboard a wide cabin jetliner. Cross the International Dateline.
Day 2 - 4/5 - Beijing
Arrive in Beijing at 6:30 a.m. You will be met by your local tour guide at the airport and transferred to the hotel. Visit Tian An Men Square, the largest square in the world, and the Temple of Heaven, built in 1420 A.D., where emperors prayed to the heaven for a good harvest.
Day 3 - 4/6 - Beijing
Sightseeing at the Palace Museum, also known as the Forbidden City, home of 24 emperors with a total space of 9,999 rooms, and the Summer Palace, known for Long Corridor with painted gallery. More sightseeing at Kunming Lake, Longevity Hill, Seventeen- Arch Bridge and Marble Boat.
Day 4 - 4/7 - Beijing
Bus tour excursion to the Great Wall, over 4,000-miles long and 2,000 years old, it is said to be the only man-made structure visible by naked eye from the moon. Visit the Ming Tombs, one of 13 Ming Emperors’ Tombs is fully excavated and open for exploration. End the evening enjoying a roasted Beijing Peaking Duck dinner.
Day 5 - 4/8 - Beijing/Shanghai/Suzhou
Fly to Shanghai - 8:40 a.m./10:35 a.m. - followed by a bus tour to Suzhou to see centuries old Lingering Garden, Tiger Hill, Hanshan Temple and the National Embroidery Institute to see silk embroidery, an important local craft with 1,000 years history. Evening dinner show with traditional Chinese Music.
Day 6 - 4/9 - Suzhou/Hangzhou
Morning bus tour to Hangzhou. Visit the Economic Development Zone and centuries-old Lingyin Temple, with the main feature of the 64.3 ft-high camphor-wood carved Buddha.
Day 7 - 4/10 - Hangzhou/Shanghai
Morning boat cruise on West Lake with a relaxing stopover at jewel-like pagodas and tea houses. Afternoon bus trip to Shanghai.
Day 8 - 4/11 - Shanghai
Sightseeing at the Yu Garden, a maze of marvelous pavilions, ponds, rocky works and over arching trees, the Bund, a famous waterfront park and the Pudong Economic Development Zone.
Day 9 - 4/12 - Shanghai/Los Angeles
Spend the morning sightseeing on your own. Afternoon flight to Beijing 12:35 p.m./2:25 p.m. The evening flight will depart by 8:15 p.m. for Los Angeles where you will arrive at 4:15 p.m. on the same day.
